Ruth Van Dine is an artist/piano technician, residing in Warwick, Rhode Island, who creates landscape paintings, and seascapes in pastel and, in her day job, repairs & tunes pianos.

Ruth grew up in White Mountains of northern New Hampshire. She now resides in what she likes to call, “the balmy South” - Rhode Island - where she has a very busy piano business. As a member of the Piano Technicians Guild, Ruth has been very active including teaching classes and mentoring. Ruth also volunteers as a docent and walking guide for the Rhode Island Historical Society.

Ruth’s art started with courses in High School where she was able to try nearly every medium available. Several years later she attended a drawing course at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. In 2014 she was introduced to pastel painting and fell in love with the colors, the feel of the caulk in her hand and freedom to create expressive paintings.

She has had classes and workshops with Liz Haywood-Sullivan, Jeanie Rosier Smith, Ed Chesnovitch and Anne Heywood and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Ruth is a member of the Pastel Society of Maine.
